The Highland Camerata is a 28 year-old, non-profit regional chorus. Its purpose is to provide a musical outlet for the members as well as to provide the community musical education and entertainment through the medium of live performance. The organization is incorporated in Virginia, but has members from both Virginia and North Carolina. Its home is the Brush Creek Hall, 2 miles South of Independence on Route 21. Performances, currently held at Brush Creek Hall, the Galax Presbyterian Church, the Sparta United Methodist Church and, in Spring, the High Meadows Golf and Country Club, are free of charge.
There are two concert series per year: Spring and Winter.
